| THIS IS SABAH A land of colorful cultures, age-old traditions and home of the mystical and marvelous. Once a year, visitors from far and near are treated to a unique assemblage of Sabah's culture and traditions under one roof. For two days, indulge in a fantastic display of ethnic pride through song, dance, drama, food, fashion and handicraft. Enjoy a dazzling stage performance of traditional dances and musical presentations. Learn how to make traditional handicraft from the local experts who will be demonstrating techniques passed down from one generation to the next, be it weaving, carving or the patient art of bead-making. Tickle your taste-buds with the weird and wonderful ethnic recipes displayed and sold during the fest. Be sure to check out the other exciting happenings throughout the month in conjunction with Sabah Fest. It's a cultural extravaganza like no other! |

马来西亚是马来、华人、印度三大民族的国家，又有受西方影响的历史渊源，加之台湾菜、香港菜、日本料理的渗透；热带气候对口味的影响等等，其菜餚表现了多元化、广吸纳的特征。 來到馬來西亞沙巴州 (Sabah Malaysia)，這裡的南洋風味美食令人垂涎欲滴. 美味多汁的熱帶水果讓人食指大動。 马来西亚菜式 : 多元民族，多元菜餚. 融合馬來菜、中國菜及印度菜的大馬菜式，具有獨特的香辣口感，十分受歡迎。 沙巴的一些特別菜色，除了清燉鮮筍、檸檬汁煨鮮魚，米酒雞是當地很受歡迎的佳餚，另外，野豬肉,咖喱牛筋,干烧鸡,奶油虾,马拉盏焖墨鱼,沙爹鸡也是很受推崇的马来西亚特產美食。 马拉盏 Belachan 是马来西亚的特产，类似虾酱，只是去除了水分，压成了砖头的模样。以马拉盏调味，当地非常流行，用于辅味的情况很多，而用其成主味的也不少，如颇有名气的“马来风光”，就是马拉盏炒空心菜(通心菜,蕹菜) 沙爹酱 Satay sauce。以辣椒、沙爹香料、花生酱、油、盐、糖、葱头、蒜米、水炒熬制成的酱料。沙爹就是东南亚国家的串烧烤肉，其风味来源于所蘸食的调味酱，以沙爹酱成菜，就是各种各样的沙爹菜了。
馬來西亞沙巴州 (Sabah Malaysia) 水果是另一項令人興奮的資源，得天獨厚的熱帶氣候，水果種類不僅多，價格也便宜，四季都有好吃新鮮的水果可吃 「果中之王」榴槤，有吃一口就縈繞不去的特殊味道.著實讓人又愛又恨，愛它濃郁的香氣、也恨它濃郁的香氣、 。 熱帶水果－榴槤、山竹、柑橘、木瓜、阿答子、番石榴, 紅毛丹, 香蕉,椰子。

2007年8月31日是馬來西亞國慶50週年.為隆重慶祝這個節日,
馬來西亞政府已經將2007年確定為"馬來西亞旅遊年". 出生於1957年的遊客有優惠措施,
對於在1957年8月31日出生的遊客還會有更多的優惠和費用減免等. 2007是馬來 西亞與眾不同的一年，建國50週年的慶典，將會有不同種族、
文化背景和信仰的馬來西亞人民向全世界人民展示他們的國家所取得的成就。 為了慶祝這個在歷史上極其重要的里程碑，馬來人、華人、
印度人及其它各個種族的人民都將會以最高的熱情歡迎來自世界各地的旅遊者。
